The proposed development will bring a number of benefits both during construction and operational phases of the scheme, and once the homes are completed. These include:

Employment opportunities created during the construction phase and support of the local supply chain;
Opportunities for apprentices;
Increased spending power in the local shops thereby ensuring the continued vitality of local shops, services and public transport;
Contributions towards local infrastructure and community facilities. Chesterfield Borough Council has introduced a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) to help with the delivery of necessary infrastructure, such as schools, doctors surgeries, highway improvements and more. Financial contributions will be made via the CIL system to help ensure the council receives required funding for these local services;
New Homes Bonus – such contributions could be used locally to fund provision of additional services and infrastructure that would be of benefit to the wider community.
Approximately £200,000 annually for Chesterfield Borough Council via increased Council Tax revenue, which can be spent in the community for the benefit of local people.

The UK is facing a major national housing shortage and Chesterfield has failed to meet its housing requirement for a number of years. The development of 120 new homes will make a significant contribution to the profusely clear need for new housing;

The development will deliver a percentage of affordable properties. This will provide assistance to those who are struggling to purchase a home; and
Homes within walking distance to a range of shops, services and local amenities in Hasland.
Society
New equipped play areas and a large area of informal open space. This should encourage a sense of community and encourage healthy lifestyles for new and existing residents.
Significant biodiversity gains on site. By delivering a designated wildlife area, the scheme should make a positive ecological contribution to the area.
